The local historical connotation is rich, has the rich resources, the writing resources, the phantom resources in kind and so on, simultaneously has also included contents and so on local historic tradition, manners and customs, natural resource, has the very rich knowledge factor and the education factor. In the middle school history teaching, the biggest difficult problem lies in historical and student's real life is away from is too far, in this kind of space and time's sense of distance causes the student to the historical study deficient interest, does not have the study enthusiasm. The local historical teaching says from the student hometown's history, the drawing close to real life, makes the student to feel kind credible, easy to cause the student to pay attention, can arouse the student learn history the enthusiasm and the interest. This may achieve from far to near, by is near and is far, by other and this, from one to the other, thus is advantageous in stimulating student's study interest, is advantageous in promoting the student to grasp to the historical knowledge and to understand.Our country《the Historical Curriculum Standard (Experiment Manuscript)》emphasized: "full development use locale-specific teaching materials and community curriculum resources". These explained fully to the local historical education value degree, moreover must strengthen the young students to the local understanding and the concern, must strengthen local historical the teaching. This article tries anew under the curriculum reform background, investigates the Quanzhou local history teaching the present situation, studies the Quanzhou local history teaching and the Quanzhou local history teaching special significance. Using the new curriculum idea, unifies Quanzhou's local characteristics, how studies to carry on the local historical teaching.
