Perfomance teaching has been accepted in high-school Chinese teaching. However, it hasn't been of universal signifance due to the fact that it is only applied by a few teachers in favor of it because of the undue emphasis on the proportion of students entering schools of a higher level. The research purpose is to improve the literary work teaching effiency under the background of new curriculum reform, to make a beneficial attempt to change the instrumental learning phenomenon and to make the chinese course play an important role for students'development. This paper aims to summarise its operation mode, find the problem and the corresponding solution. Documentation method, questionnarie method, interviewing method and case study method are imployed in this paper. On the basis of the study of the performance teaching at home and abroad, a research is carried out in a high school in Mudanjiang. 295 students'opinions on perfomance teaching, and opionions on the implementation of perfomance teaching from 20 high school teachers teaching Chinese are analyzed and discussed. A comparative studey is also carried out between the performance teaching and non-performance teaching.The conclusions are as follows: First, it is beneficial to implement performance teaching in high-school Chinese teaching. However,"national college entrance exam baton"has become an obstacle, so just a few teachers implement this teaching method. Second, this paper establishes operation mode for performance teaching in high-school Chinese teaching, namely, prepare—perform—research—write down. Third, this paper discusses the problem with performance teaching such as, the contradictory situation of high input versus low output, change of teaching content, small percentage of students'participation, and provides solutions– selecting models, drawing inferences about other cases from one instance, rooting from textbook, appreciate language.
