The "inquiry" is a major brightened dot of the late basic education curriculum reform .The research about how to cultivate the inquiry ability means a lot in how to cultivate creative ability .Now every subject has begun trying to cultivating students'inquiry ability but there are a lot of problems in actual curriculum. Our country's system exploration is late and other country's pattern can't adapt to our country national conditions. The exploration theory arriving at Specific subject is little and the interdisciplinary exploration studies are almost none. Every discipline ought to mutually unified when cultivate a student's abilities especially in Physics and mathematics. Many science great masters are both physicist and mathematician. I am trying to find the Similarities and differences in Physics and mathematics while cultivating a student's abilities. So that we can find q better way to cultivate students'inquiry abilities and every subject will exert their own unique advantages in cultivating students'inquiry abilities.In this article the study object is the inquiry in Physics Course and mathematics course .The research methods in this study including : literature content analysis,compare and so on study methods. First of all we will collect the related literature to organize , classify, analyze, summarize in order to find the theoretical basis we use in our study. This article will study on the curriculum standards, academic textbooks, classes. The study is static dynamic combination of macro-micro combination, a combination of qualitative and quantitative. At last we will find the Similarities and differences in Physics and mathematics while cultivating a student's abilities, and provide some feasible advices.The study gets a conclusion as follows:(1) Inquiry has different status in mathematics course and physics course. The inquiry is one kind of means in mathematics course while the inquiry is objectives and content in physics course.(2) The mathematics curriculum standards has not mentioned the world"inquiry"but in the physics curriculum standards"inquiry"has a full image include the seven elements.(3) The inquiry appears different in the two disciplines'textbooks and course. Mathematics course values thinking while physics course values experimental. In the process of classroom teaching mathematic inquiry is too abstract and physics inquiry is too formalized.(4) while solving problems with knowledge there are some differences between mathematics courses and physics courses.(5) In daily classes, great majority physics teachers and the mathematics teacher find the inquiry use too much time to improve the examination results and it is hard to teach inquiry for teachers.Owing to all above conclusions we get some suggestions as follows:(1) In mathematics course further definition of inquiry should be done.(2) Give students much more time and space to explore and the inquiry will means more. Pay more attention to strengthen the ability of finding out and bringing up problems.(3) Physics inquiry should have more Forms and methods.(4) Deepen the front-line teacher's understanding of inquiry and enhance the capacity of front-line teachers to explore. Teacher education should make prospective teachers to learn much more general knowledge.(5) In order to ensure the process of inquiry is efficient and effective,we shuold make mathematics courses and physics courses premeate eache other and dependent on eache other.
