| With the rapid development of information technology and the prompt approaching of the global economy, there are lots of chances in the challenges which can not be missed. The word"Enterprise"has become the key word in the new times. There were more attention paid to the enterprise education in higher school, it is not the requirement of the new time, but also the attraction of enterprise education itself. The ability of creation and enterprise has been the key competitive power of the whole country in nowadays. Science the World War II, entrepreneurial activity of small and medium sized enterprise(SMES) has promoted economic growth and created more new jobs. With that expansion has come a similar increase in the field of entrepreneurship education. Entrepreneurship has become one of rapidly growing field of study in the universities.Based on the clarification of the related conceptions of entrepreneurship education, the paper tries to study entrepreneurship education in higher education in UK from the aspects of social background,policy,implementation,analysis, and the problems in the higher education. The holistic and systematical research will of great significance to entrepreneurship education in our country which are in the stage of exploration.Entrepreneurship education is more than the education of mere creation of business. It aims to cultivate the entrepreneuring individual with characteristics of independence, innovation, taking risks beyond security, seeking opportunities and creative thinking, so that they can be adapted to the future society. The emergence and development of British entrepreneurship education in the universities is the inherent necessity in the process of university development and is also response to social demands. Graduate entrepreneurship education in the UK can be examined in the social, political, economic, and cultural contexts. With the mission of building entrepreneurship culture, British government has established and implemented a series of graduated entrepreneurship education policies including providing legislation, initiating national enterprise programmes, founding administrative organizations, providing funding for entrepreneurship education, carrying out some innovation and research activities of entrepreneurship education.Entering 21th century, graduate entrepreneurship education in the British universities has developed rapidly. It exhibits the specific characteristics as follows: favorable enterprise education environment, institutional entrepreneurship education policies approaches, integrations of entrepreneurship courses with provision, infrasture development and student enterprise and entrepreneurship supports,the definite enterprise programmes, pay more attention to the attitude of enterprise, to build various departments of teach and learn center and with the help of whole society. Although entrepreneurship education shows these characteristics and gains some outcomes, there remain some problems and challenges. First is the shortage of entrepreneurship faculty. Second is the low level of entrepreneurship research. Third is lack of systematic courses. Fourth is that the effectiveness of entrepreneurship supports need evaluating. Fifth is lack of follow-up funds. |
