With the gradual deepening of the new curriculum reform, the majority of teachers have certain understanding of and experience in the concept of the new curriculum, but in practice, the teachers need to study and experience in order to really apply the new curriculum. Teaching design is the assumption and plan of implementing curriculum, the linking point of teachers'putting educational concepts into practice and the interface of connecting educational concepts with teaching practice. Using the method of teaching design will help the chemistry teachers in middle school select the teaching contents scientifically and rationally, develop reasonable teaching strategies and work out the optimized teaching plan so as to guide teaching practice, carry out teaching activities smoothly, discover the problems in teaching, improve teaching promptly, and raise the teaching level and teaching quality. Therefore, in the context of implementing the new curriculum, the importance of the chemistry teaching design is more prominent than ever before.In this article, the basic theory of the chemical school—"ionization of weak electrolyte"serves as the object of study. Under the guidance of the current educational theory, with reference to the concept requirements of the new curriculum standards, the author carries out three rounds of cycling action research, using the educational action research method of combining theory with practice and placing problem solution in the first place, aiming at treating chemistry classroom teaching design in depth through such action research and positively exploring the combination of theory and practice, which provides some practical experience in improving the quality of middle school chemistry teaching and promotes the effective implementation of new curriculum. This article consists of four parts, and the respective contents and achievements are briefly introduced as follows:In the part of introduction, the author briefly introduces the causes and background of the selected topic, the research value, significance and methods.In the part of literary summary, the author summarizes the meaning of chemistry classroom teaching design, some researches related to chemistry teaching design, and the basic ideas of chemistry teaching design in the context of new curriculum concept.In the third part, the main part of the article, the author makes the action research, taking the lesson of"the nature of elements and atomic structure"as an example. The author explores the combination of theory and practice when teachers carry out teaching design by using action research, the three rounds of teaching design: pre-class design, classroom implementation, reflection after class or putting forward a new question and redesigning. In the last part, the author draws a conclusion and gets inspiration, according to the case study of middle school chemistry teaching design based on the concept of new curriculum.
