Being full of opportunities as well as challenges, the 21st century demands a higher scientific in the field of the education. The development of the teaching material is closely related to social development; new requirement must be put forward to the teaching material of physics in the new century. The year 2003, a landmark in China's secondary physics education reform, witnessed the birth of new national standard for physics curriculum of senior high school, which is a milestone in China's secondary physics education reform.This thesis analyze the historical development of the physics teaching material of the senior high school in our country, which has great help for the high school teachers to understand the new course idea, to implement the new course of physics successfully and to make good use of the new teaching material.Based on the theory of the curriculum reform, this thesis expatiate the concept and connotation of the curriculum standard. Moreover, this thesis compares and analyzes from our country syllabus and historical development of teaching material since 1978, announces the main characteristic of teaching material during each period, looks for the reason and law of its change, explores the whole trend that the teaching material changes. This thesis has also carried on deep comparison between the physics course standard of the year 2003 to the physics teaching of the syllabus of 2002, on the basis of this, combined the course standard of physics, taken the required course as an example, carried on detailed analysis on the new edition of physics teaching material published by the People's education press from such respect as structural system, step by step, the mode of present, language and picture etc. In structural system, no crucial distinction is found based on the comparison between new teach materials and old teaching materials. In step-by-step concept, analysis is made on how the knowledge is arranged in the new teaching material, taking Vectors and Motion with Constant Acceleration as examples. On the mode of present of scientific methods, several special examples in the new teaching material are illustrated. The new teaching material emphasize the training of students ability on learning and researching, stress the application of physics on student's daily life, industry and society, fully incarnating the three-dimensional training target of knowledge and techniques, process and methods, emotional attitude and values.The new teaching material challenges the ability of teachers.At the end of the thesis, opinions and suggestions are given on how the teachers accommodate themselves to the teaching materials and teaching methods of the new curriculum, which offers effective help for the fact that the physics teachers meet the needs of new curriculum more quickly.
