A Strategy Study With Respect To The Present Situation Of Undergraduate Scientific Research In Universities Of Hebei Province

The 21st century is the era when the science and technology develop at full speed; the competition is fierce; innovations come out day by day. Such an era needs talents who have innovative consciousness, innovation ability and can solve practical problems. How to bring up high-quality innovative talents that conform to era needs has become urgent problem which the institution of higher education must pay close attention to and solve. Undergraduates participate in research is helpful for their creative spirit, creative ability and practical ability. Finally, it can improve the comprehensive ability of undergraduates. So, it is an effective way to train innovative talents. The research on undergraduate research is meaningful for training innovative talents in university and improving training model of universities.The author has investigated undergraduate scientific research situation in eight universities of Hebei province, using the research approaches such as literature method, questionnaire and interview. After analyzing what influence undergraduate scientific research in universities of Hebei province, the author proposes countermeasures and suggestions for undergraduate scientific research to accelerate higher education development, improve teaching quality, advance talents training system and bring up more talents for society.This study is divided into four parts. The first part is the summary of undergraduate's scientific research activity. It analyzes the definition, characteristics, feasibility and the history of undergraduate's participation scientific research. The second part introduces current situation of the scientific research activity of undergraduate in Hebei province. After surveying eight universities and colleges in Hebei, we can know the progress and problems in undergraduate's scientific research. The third part is about points which affect undergraduate's scientific research in Hebei province. It analyzes how students themselves and school education to impact on undergraduate's scientific research. Then author try to find the reasons why undergraduates participate in scientific research activity situation at present. The last part talks about countermeasures for improving undergraduate's scientific research in Hebei from two respects of students' themselves and school education. From the view of student, the undergraduate should define one's own development goal, establish confidence, train the interest of scientific research, form the correct values, improve the ability of independent study and become the host of study. From the view of school, the university should build the teaching system that is good for researching, set up perfect management and safeguard system for research, build good culture surrounding etc. All of these make more students participate in the scientific research, improve students' innovating and practicing ability, which are in order to bring up talents who have innovative ability.
