The new curriculum reform of elementary education in China encourage teachers to breakthrough and develop textbooks on the basis of taking full advantage of textbooks. It has a lot of physics teaching resources in the ethnic minority region of Southwest China, and these teaching materials are good for enriching textbook contents and improving teaching effect. Therefore, it has a certain practical significance if we understand the current situation of the redevelopment of textbook contents by physic teachers. Based on the redevelopment survey of textbook contents by secondary school physic teachers in the ethnic region of Southwest China, the thesis aims to understand the current situation and characteristics of the redevelopment of textbook contents.This survey study includes two parts: one is the questionnaire survey, the other is the case study. The methods of questionnaire survey, analysis of lesson plans, classroom observation and interview are mainly taken in this thesis to study the current redevelopment situation of textbook contents.The conclusions are as follows.Firstly, the teachers adjust the textbook contents mainly based on curriculum standards, the demand of examination and actual teaching condition during preparing lessons and teaching. The ways of adjustment include increasing, deleting, transferring order and so on. The increasing contents mainly include examples from real life, question cases and exercises, etc. The deleting contents are the similar type of exercises and reading materials, etc. The ways of transferring textbook contents are mainly changing the order of a certain section and chapter. In addition, teachers also improve experiments by alternating experiment instruments, alternating experiment ways and so on.Secondly, 45.1% of the teachers think that the main reason to redevelop the textbook contents is to meet the needs of the college entrance examination or the high school entrance examination. 33.9%of the teachers consider that curriculum standards is the main basis on the redevelopment of textbook contents. 32.6% of the teachers think that the demand of test is the main foundation.Thirdly, 82.4%of the teachers think that it is necessary to introduce local curriculum resources which are relevant to physics into physical classroom, but only 30.2% of the teachers often use these resources to teach physics, and 52.1% of the teachers introduce these curriculum resources by the way of teaching.Fourthly, 56% of the teachers think that it has promoted students to learn and grasp the knowledge through the redevelopment of textbook contents. However, there are some difficulties in the redevelopment process. Firstly, it is the lack of resources such as books, laboratory equipments as well as scientific, educational and cultural facilities and so on. Secondly, it is the lack of teachers' teaching skills. In order to better redevelop textbook contents, the teachers hope to enrich teaching resources and enhance teaching skills by the way of increasing capital investments in the southwest minority areas.
