The Study Of The Construction Of Institute In China's Research Universities

From the history of the development of every country around the world, if there has the rise of first-class university, there is emergence of a world-class country. With the world entering the era of knowledge economy today, ethnology competitiveness, especially the competitiveness of the original result gradually becomes one of the main factors to enhance overall national strength and decide the future and the fate of the nation. A high level of research university is not only the cradle to train the excellence, but also the major force of scientific and technological innovation in country. It is imperative that the institutions of higher education be classified and managed and focused on the construction in order to better adapt to develop in country to need the diverse of the talent and to reach a reasonable balance between cultivating the general-purpose talent and the elite talent. Against this background our government focuses on the construction of a number of colleges and universities through launching the "211 project" and "985 project" so that the strength of these schools has been greatly improved and these schools have become the important bases of training and the national knowledge innovation and technological innovation. In 2003,among all the colleges and universities of the country, the State Key Laboratory and the.statekey.disciplines.of.the"211project"universities ,respectively, accounts for 96% and 88% that of the colleges and universities, and doctoral students,graduate students and undergraduates in school, respectively, accounts for 84%,69% and 32% percent of colleges and universities. Therefore, the construction of research universities in our country has not only the basis for the development ,but also the conditions for the development.Construction often research university is a complex systematic project ,including all aspects of the construction of university among which Institute construction plays an important role in the construction of the research universities as one of the forefront and the main position of the universities construction. Meanwhile, the quality of the Institute construction is directly related to the success or failure of the all constructions in the research University. Therefore, the Construction Institute of the research universities in our country should begin with the basic conditions of China. To base on the fact of the own university, combined with its own characteristics, and under the guidance of theory of the core competitiveness in the colleges and universities, fully exerted the enthusiasm of the sponsoring institute, and gradually to realize the downward movement of the focus of school management to institute and really become the main body to run a school; and to integrate reasonably the academic recourses of running a school to create a high visibility,high-quality characteristics Institute; and to strengthen postgraduate education and create a good academic atmosphere are all the important contents of the institute construction of the research university in our country. This paper discusses detailed the status and role of the building of Institute in the construction of the Research Universities in China and analyzes the current situation and the existing problems of the construction of the Institute in Chinese research Universities .And I hope that this paper can provide some feasible suggestion to the construction of the Institute in our research universities through the analysis of the cause of the existing problems and the basis on the experience of the construction of the Institute in foreign research universities.
