With the carrying out of the Education for All-round Development,much more attention paid to the profound effect which the interior factors of the language learners have on the language acquisition learning.Educators also pay more attention to enhance the teaching and learning efficiency by designing classroom activities as the main approach,which can realize the all-round development for students.The research on the current English learning motivations of High School students has a significant effect on arousing the enthusiasm towards English learning and improving the learning efficiency.But the specific research on how to apply the task-based language teaching to promote and maintain the motivation on language learning is still under exploration.The thesis consists of five chapters with an introduction.The first chapter,the author states the background of the research and its significance.The second chapter is a review of related research and theoretical basis.This chapter will present the theoretical basis of the learning motivation and the task-based language teaching approach;psychological,pedagogical and foreign language learning studies on motivation; theories on the task-based language teaching approach;The third chapter introduces the survey and experiments,which were carried out in Grade 2,Jilin No.1 High School,in order to have a brief understanding of the students' English learning and analyse the motivation factors that affect their language learning.The findings of the study suggested that the task-based language teaching is an effective way in promoting the learning motivation.In the fourth chapter is the discussion and analysis of the experiments' results.The last chapter is conclusion.It emphasizes the implications,the limitation of the research and gives some advice for the future research in this field.
