Research On The Space-time Structure And Evaluation Of The Residents' Leisure Activities In Wuhan

The city,as the outcome of the development of human society,owns amounts of basic functions,absolutely including the leisure function.The situation of the residents' leisure activities not only reflects the residents' life level,but also determines the harmonious city whether could be came true.Though studying such questions on the residents' leisure activities in Wuhan,this paper tries to help the city enhance the level of the residents' leisure life and make it become the truly harmonious city.Based on the interrelated theories both at home and abroad,this paper got the first-hand data though questionnaire in order to learn the content of the residents' leisure activities,the space-time structure,the residents' evaluation about leisure activities and so on.The study of the space-time structure and evaluation of the residents' leisure activitise in Wuhan is as follows:(1) Based on the statistics and analysis in SPSS16.0,the content of the residents' leisure activities mainly includes reading,walking,watching TV and so on in working days.And it also includes walking,palying,roaming and so on on weekends.From the content,we could conclude that all the activities have the characteristics,which is traditional,passive and recreative.(2) This paper summarized the total time amount which the residents spent on leisure activities and the time structure from the time-perspective.In working days,the total amount is 1-2 hours.Besides,the time structure presents the ascending trend which arrives at the top point in the evening.And on weekends,the total amount is 4-6 hours. Although the whole trend is also ascending,it presents a transitory decline at noon. Finally,it reaches the peak in the evening as well.(3) This paper summarized the spacial structure of the residents' leisure activities from the spatial perspective.From it we can see that,on the one hand,the residents focus on their own homes as the centre of activity space,and they are not interested in the other places especially the community in working days.So the spatial structure presents the form of the circle which has a single centre.On the other hand,the residents choose their own homes,shopping malls,markets and so on,as the centres of activity space on weekends.And the spacial structure presents the form of the multi-nucleus.(4) Based on the statistics and analysis,this paper finds out the residents' evaluation to the leisure activities is not high.There are several reasons for the situation,such as the low payout in the leisure activities,the restricted time and space,the insufficient congnization of leisure value and so on. (5) According to summarizing the major problems in the leisure activities of Wuhan residents and refering to the experience of developing city leisure both at home and abroad,we can propose the following suggestion:innovating to the way of leisure activity and enriching the leisure content;increasing the leisure time and respecting the right of leisure;building leisure space in the viewpoint of community construction; implementing the strategy of urban public transport priority and building the network of leisure space;correctly understanding and revaluating the meaning of leisure.
