The Relationship Between Archers' Ability Of Orienting Distributed Attention And Congitive Style

Attention is one of the most popular research topics that psychologists have been concerning.Concentration and distributed attention are two important topics in attention research.With the in-depth investigation of the mechanism of attention in cognitive psychology,distributed attention is now being concerned.Distributed attention is defined as: mental processes pointing to two or several types of objects or activities at the same time.Based on the review of research papers on distributed attention,this study found that previous studies have more theoretical but less practical values.In order to study the characteristics of distributed attention of athletes and get higher ecology validity,the present study was designed in cross-channel(visual and proriceptive) dual-task research paradigm. The study was taken the subject visual information processing as the outside orienting distributed attention and proprioceptive information processing as the inside orienting distributed attention.These two tasks can be used here to investigate on distributed attention.According to the previous results,the study select the archers as subjects,and investigate the relationship between the archers' distributed attention and their cognitive styles.Through study one,The research found that high sport rank archers could be better than lower sport rank archers in outside orienting attention and in inside orienting attention.Results from the present study simulating showed that the situations had influence on the outside orienting distributed attention,but had no influence on the inside orienting distributed attention,had influence on the outside orienting distributed attention.Through studying the archers' cognitive styles,The research found that the archers' cognitive style tended to be field dependence.And their cognitive style have no influence on distributed attention.Other factors may be influence archers' orienting distributed attention.
