Teaching self-evaluation of teachers refers to the process in which the teacher himself adopts effective approaches,using teaching process as an assessment object,to examine and analyze teaching behavior,decision and results.The new curriculum advocating self-assessment has its practical and theoretical basis.The changes in ideas of teacher evaluation,the changes in the status of teachers and the demand for teachers conducting self-assessment are the practical basis.While developing teacher evaluation,the 4th educational evaluation,people-oriented theory,humanism and constructivism lay theoretic foundation for it.In order to get the full picture,this research makes questionnaire and interview mainly in teachers' understanding and attitude toward teaching self-evaluation of teachers, assessment content,approaches,etc.The survey finds that there are many problems.Many teachers are found to be weak in the awareness of the value of teaching self-evaluation,have little knowledge of the content of it,lack practical and effective approaches for it,can't guarantee the time for it,have narrow channel of information.All those have their causes. Teachers have weak awareness,they can't form right assessment value,can't realize the right meaning of it.Teachers are lack of capability in conducting teaching self-evaluation,they can't comprehend and grasp teaching,are lack of knowledge of teaching self-evaluation.The environment support is not good,the developing teacher assessment system hasn't been established,the atmosphere of teaching self-assessment in school hasn't been formed,and there are heavy teaching task and lack of cooperation.In order to conduct effectively new curriculum teaching self-evaluation of teachers,we suggest that the awareness of teachers toward teaching self-evaluation should be strengthened, developing appropriate activities of propagate and education,and organizing teachers to develop teaching self-evaluation.The capability of teachers toward teaching self-assessment should be enhanced,increasing teachers' knowledge of teaching self-evaluation,helping them know teaching,guiding them grasp the approaches of teaching self-evaluation.The standard for teaching evaluation should be established to guide teachers conduct self-assessment,helping them understand new curriculum.The assurance system should be built,creating good environment,establishing developing teacher evaluation,constructing the learning-based teacher organization.The teacher training system should be improved, carrying out school-based teaching-research activities,exploring effective teacher training approaches.
