Objective: By comparing the behavioral data of perception reaction in long and short time span under different tasks of Table tennis players with that of ordinary undergraduates (without technical experience of Table tennis). we want to know whether there is difference in the aspect of time perception. If there is, we could explore the reasons of this difference in the aspect of nerve activity in brain, as well as the characteristics of the nerve activity in brain of Table tennis players in the process of time perception. In this way, we can break a new path to estimate the time perception ability of the athletes scientifically in the aspect of nerve activity. Meantime, we can enrich the talent selection in sports.Method: We choose some of the elites and ordinary undergraduates in Cipital Institute of Physical Education as the subjects. And the experiment is composed of two parts. In the first one, a behavioral experiment with sixty subjects, we compare the time duplication error, accurate frequency of time reaction and other behavioral data of the Table tennis players with that of the ordinary undergraduates. In the second one, an ERP experiment with thirty subjects, we compare the two groups in these aspects—the latent period of CNV and wave crest, the average amplitude, the area, and the BEAM.Result: In behavioral experiment, there is distinct difference between Table tennis players and ordinary undergraduates in the aspect of the accuracy of time perception. Statistically, the time duplication error of the Table tennis players is evidently less than that of ordinary undergraduates. Meantime, in the task of time comparison, the accuracy of the Table tennis players is evidently better than that of ordinary undergraduates. And in ERP experiment, the CNV latent period of the Table tennis players is evidently less than that of ordinary undergraduates, and the average amplitude of the Table tennis players is higher than that of ordinary undergraduates, and the area is larger than that of ordinary undergraduates. The latent period of the wave crest is more close to target time interval。(1000ms)Conclusion:1. The time perception accuracy of Table tennis players is better than that of ordinary undergraduates.2. There is some relation between CNV amplitude and time perception. Much higher the CNV amplitude is,more accurate the time perception is.3. In the time duplication method, the latent period of the wave crest is much nearer the target time interval, and the less the time duplicate error is, and more accurate the time perception is. Meantime, by using the latent period of the CNV wave crest as the criterion of time perception accuracy, we can eliminate the influence of the act on experiment data, and the results may be more objective。4.By using ERP technique, we can get brain electricity index which is more accurate than behavior index to explore the information processing of time perception of Table tennis players. And we can break a new path to estimate the time perception ability of the athletes scientifically in the aspect of nerve activity and enrich the psychological selection system.
