With the development of new curriculum reform of elementary education in China,technology curriculum has received recognition increasingly.For the technology curriculum that still in the exploratory phase,it faces with a series of tribulations and difficulties.Whereas the importance and wide research prospects of the technology curriculum,this study based on ethnic minority areas of southwest China,focusing on the implementation actuality of technology curriculum in senior high school,for accelerating the new curriculum reform in minority areas and promoting the development of science and technology education in minority areas.This study includes three parts:the development course of technology curriculum in China,the implementation actuality of technology curriculum of senior high school in minority areas of southwest China,the feedback about technology curriculum from teachers and students.On the aspect of information collection,the study adopts questionnaires and field visits to implement the investigation.The questionnaire includes two parts,one is for the teachers and the other for the students,and field visits,which is a supplement to the questionnaires.Based on possessing the above information adequately,the study analyzes the problem and difficult of technology curriculum in minority areas of southwest China;provide the strategy and advice for implementing technology curriculum effectively in these areas.The conclusions are as follows:(1) According as the times background and phase characteristics of the tech- nology education development,the study tries to divide it into three stages,the technology education stage of basic production,labor technology education and computer technology education,new curriculum technology education.The appellation and content of technology curriculum have changed in each stage,which is closely related to changes of the objective and value orientation.(2) These areas of southwest China all have information technology courses.From the situation of information technology courses,such as teachers,facilities for teaching,campus network,the situation of teaching outfit,it is imbalance correspondingly,some schools are lack of source of technology curriculum.but 62%of teachers surveyed think that the curriculum resources the school possessed can satisfy their teaching needs,52%of teachers believe that the greatest difficulty of implementing technology curriculum is the lack of financing investment,following by the leaders' recognition inadequate,teaching resources deficiency and teacher shortages.(3) Many schools in the southwest area arrange a period of technology course every week for one class,less than half of schools have a unified plan for technology curriculum,and few schools have developed or are developing technology school-based curriculum.Although the majority of teachers (73%) agree with the arrangements for the technical courses,72%of teachers think that two periods of technology courses every week for one class is more reasonable.(4) 61%of teachers have more confidence with their teaching practice;most of them have strong sense of teaching efficacy.The actuality of curriculum training and research activities are not very satisfactory,only 11%of teachers participated in technology curriculum trainings;many teachers expressed the wish to take part in more curriculum trainings and teaching research activities.(5) Almost 80%of high school students are interested in technology curriculum.In the information technology curriculum,the students most are interested three modules respectively are: network technology application,multimedia applied technology,information processing and exchange;in the general technical curriculum,the three modules respectively are:Technology and design,electronic control technology and costume and design,but more students' attitude to learn technology courses are not serious,the effect of study is not ideal,and there are many problems,for example,many students do not have a solid foundation of technical knowledge,technical emotion and attitudes are inconsistent with the technology behavior,the lack of technical ideas and methods. In addition,there is a distinct difference in technical literacy of the boys and girls,the situation of boys is better than girls;the technical literacy of three grades students' is not distinct difference,and the technical literacy of different ethnic groups' students is not distinct difference.
