Abstract/Summary:
With the introduction of the multiple intelligences theory, constructivism theory and qualitative evaluation which are gradually accepted by the academic world, the reform of the Quality Education has been accepted progressively which has also been a major breakthrough to be the tools of students' assessment. Moreover, "Shanghai Primary and Middle School Students Growing up Track Record" developed by Department of Basic Education of Shanghai Education Commission will raise the evaluation of students' behavior to a new level.However, what we think it pity is that Shanghai has so far had no similar evaluation handbook for vocational school students which could make half of the total student number in upper secondary schools.This paper tries to give a clear definition of the vocational school students' overall quality by careful study of its development since the implementation of Open and Reform policy in China. Based on the analysis and reflection of the issues and problems in the implementation of "Shanghai Primary and Middle School Students Growing up Track Record", the paper adopts what is rational and successful in this practice and tries to form the principles, strategies and initial framework for "Evaluation Handbook for Comprehensive Qualities of Vocational School Students".In addition, the paper emphasizes the importance of evaluation strategy, which is attached to "the handbook". It also pays close attention to the enthusiasm that the teachers and students have to "the handbook". Moreover, whether the employers care about "the handbook" is another main point of the paper. Based on the idea of forming a preliminary handbook on the premise of the framework, the draft named "Evaluation Handbook for Comprehensive Qualities of Vocational School Students" should be determined according to some methods such as the survey from students, teachers and employers.In the establishment of the draft, this study is also based on comparative study of student's learning between the experiment class and the controlled class in a vocational school. It also relies on the discussion with related teachers and students and some employers as well. Through a collective discussion on this basis, the handbook is Eventually developed which is named "Evaluation Handbook for Comprehensive Qualities of Vocational School Students"In the end, the paper stresses the practical value of this handbook and put forward a comprehensive package of proposals as to its usages. And the paper also makes some necessary explanations related to the constraints and follow-up plans as well.
