Practice And Research Of Mathematics History Teaching In New Curriculum Of Senior Middle School

History of mathematics is the mathematical wisdom through time and space.The great French mathematician Henry Poincare once said:"If we want to predict the future of mathematics, then the appropriate approach is to study its history and the current situation."With the new curriculum reform going on to deepen,"mathematics culture"and"mathematics humanistic value"catch the unprecedented attention, and a growing number of teachers and researchers have started to pay attention to mathematics history teaching. Mathematics history teaching is the best media of mathematics humanistic value. Because of various factors, mathematics history teaching and research work has just started, related research and practical work will be more urgent.In this paper, we begin the work from the changes of mathematics history in the textbooks and explain why we should carry out mathematics history teaching. Through investigation on senior middle school students and mathematics teachers, we found that the majority of them approve and require mathematics history teaching urgently, but there are many difficulties we have to face. Many factors affect mathematics history teaching. We discuss effective ways of mathematics history teaching and provide some practice cases, and explore strategies and methods of the problems.The results show that most students hold a favorable opinion to mathematics history teaching, and the majority of teachers have gradually realized the values . As the ways of mathematics history teaching,case studying based on historical materials is the most effective .In the study, I understand the mathematics history teaching and methods better, and the HPM quality has substantially improved.The research is useful to the popularization and improvement of mathematics history teaching in senior middle school.
