| This thesis focuses on the causes of the high-school students' English academic achievements. Through some research methods—the test, the interview, observation and record, it is expected to make clear that there is close relationship between the students' academic achievements and the Ss' and their choices of learning strategies. The Students' motivation can be stimulated through teacher's effective teaching methods, which will improve the students' English learning and help students overcome the fear of difficulties and thus to enhance students' English learning enthusiasm. From the research, it is discovered that the level of using learning strategies is obviously lower than that of the students with higher achievements. It means it's essential to develop the students' proper learning strategies. Therefore, in the experimental process, the author implemented the learning strategy instruction, on the bases of stimulating theory. The students have benefited a lot from it, they began to realize why they couldn't learn English well and how they can learn well in the future. Their motivation has been strengthened reasonably, so that the students have formed an appropriate strategy of learning. When stimulating students' English academic motivation, the teacher must understand what the students need and make it clear whether the students' needs are reasonable and how to satisfy their needs. By means of a series of efforts, the author helps the students to learn and use some useful cognitive and performing strategies, thus, the students' academic motivation has been stimulated, and rationally strengthened, which helps the students learn Englishsuccessfully. |
