| This article is a research about the impact caused by the catch-words on the ideological and political education for the youth .The full text is divided into six parts. The first part of this paper describes the background, the meaning and methods. The second part of the popular summarizes through the definition of popular words, social and cultural background of the formation, classification and characteristics theoretically as well as practical cases given to prove these. The third part gives an account of the elements of the ideological and political education for young people. The fourth part refers to why the ideological and political education affects young people so greatly,which results from the two factors that the ideological and political education itself is not so fit for the youth tha t they are forced to find another way to contact the society,and that the fresh and natural style of the catch-wors appeals to the youth because of their own physical and mental characteristics, which leads to a direct influnce on the youth's ideas ,values and life styles. Part V objectively analyses the effect on ideological and political education for the youth from the positive and negative aspects. Part VI, I propose that the catch-words should play an active role in the ideological and political education for young people while overcoming its shortcomings.First of all,people should not have prejudice on this phenomenon, knowing about it objectively.
