In order to reach the goal of the three-dimensional target system (knowledge and skills, processes and methods, emotional attitude and values) put forward by the new curriculum standards, this thesis intends to classify the knowledge of the Compulsory Module 1 of Senior Geography and make recommendations in teaching by analyzing the students' external hehaviors caused by the inner state changes after their studies.This project is based on the Theory of Knowledge Classification by the American psychologist, Gagne R.M. and the Theory of Knowledge Classification and Goal-oriented Teaching, the research results of the 15--planning project in China's Ministry of Education humanities and social sciences -"the Research into reforming training contents and modes of China's teaching skills by using modern cognitive psychology principle" . The Thesis tries to analyse the contents and teaching of the Compulsory Module 1 of Senior Geography based on geography curriculum standards and geographical subject teaching requirements (Fujian Version)The thesis is divided into five parts. Part I: Introduce the background of the project and the contents and scope of the study. Part II: Deal with the theoretical basis of the knowledge classification and the corresponding recommendations of teaching, beginning with the analysis of the theory of the general knowledge classification, Gagne's theory of knowledge classification and the learning process. Part III: Discuss the six classified knowledges, namely the statements of knowledge, concepts and rules, basic skills, cognitive strategies, problem solving and attitude, as well as their teaching.Part IV: Make the teaching experiment research into the Compulsory Module 1 of Senior Geography, based on the theory of knowledge classification. Part V: State the basic conclusions of this thesis and the inadequate.It has been proved that knowledge classification and its teaching will help to achieve the goal of the three-dimensional target set by the curriculum standards. It also contributes to improving the students' learning effectiveness and the teachers' teaching skills.
