Secondary vocational schools are targeted on training the high-quality junior and mid-level technicians who have finished nine-year compulsory education. With the rapid economic development, great changes have taken place in industrial and labor structures. Thus new demands for the quantity and quality of the frontline workers of manufacture and service have been put forward. Here the "quality" refers to not only the excellent skills, but also a sound personality, the common ideals and correct values for constructing socialism with Chinese characteristics, good professional ethics, a strong sense of responsibility and creativity to serve the harmonious society that graduates should have. However, due to the asymmetry of information, enterprises hiring graduates of secondary vocational schools imply some degree of risks in professional ethics, and the risks may bring losses to the enterpries.In this article the author mainly talks about the contents and strategies of career design. By analysing the current status of vocational school graduates,vocational school students' career design and the guidance from their tutors, the author is trying to help students make an appropriate career design so as to strenthen their sense of career and establish a correct concept in choices of vocation and employment. With the combination of the actual situation in the vocational school, the author gives a comprehensive guide to a career design expecting to draw the attention of secondary vocational school educators, to change the current situation of vocational schools and to guide vocational school students to have a good career design, which may lead to improvement of the competitiveness of the vocational school.
