This thesis is mainly about exploiting the view of teaching and researching, which is based on Chinese teaching materials of junior high schools in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Through a comparative investigation about the contents of selective passages, characteristics of arrangement and factors of exercise, it studies advantages of teaching materials in Hong Kong and Shanghai. It pays much attention on the commonness and individuality on setting of teaching objectives, cultivating of students' ability on Chinese, fostering spirit of humanism and scientism and passing down the traditional culture of China, etc. Consequently, there will be a comprehensive understanding of the new teaching materials of the Second Curriculum Revolution in Shanghai. Meanwhile, it is learning positively the advantage of teaching materials in Hong Kong, to the effect that it can be thought and used in our teaching procedures.
