The new round of curriculum reform emphasizes the cultivation of non-intellectual factors in the learning process. The learning motivation is an important part of non-intelligence. Motivation is the driving force for students to learn, which reflects their needs, pursuit and goals. Under the new curriculum reform, the curriculum standards researching group aim to develop students' emotional attitudes and values as one of the teaching goals. The goal of emotional experience of the ideological and political course is to develop students' interests, motivation, attitude and habits by studying the course. A primary goal in emotional attitudes and values of the new curriculum standards is to help students to participate actively in teaching activities and to develop their curiosity about politics and thirst for knowledge.The research into the motivation classification of ideological and political course in senior middle schools is still rare in the Chinese education sector. This article attempts to classify, number and conclude the situation of the students' learning motivation of the ideological and political course, by doing surveys among some senior middle school students, depending on schools, grades, genders and regions. And it tries to find the situation of the high school students to learn the ideological and political course. It mainly analyzes the types and structures of students' learning motivation, and then gives general and the leading type of learning motivation of the course. And on this basis it analyzes the leading causes of the leading type and explores the dominant type of impact arising from the diversity. It provides the proof basis for the teachers to put forward the strategy to stimulate motivation and training.This thesis consists of the five-part text.The first part focuses on the research into motivation and relevant theories.The second part is about the discussion on the motivation classification standard of ideological and political class. It classifies the learning motivation, according to three different standards of the sources of motivation, motivation contents and uses.The third part focuses on the general types of the learning motivation of the ideological and political classes: knowledge, tools and situational motivation.The fourth part of the ideological and political classes focuses on the leading type of motivation and on the reasons for its formation. That is, the leading motivation of the ideological and political course is the tool motivations, among which test motivation is the most important motivation.On the basis of the previous analysis, the fifth part analyses the multi-impacts of leading motivation of the ideological and political course combining teaching practice.
