Since the reform and opening policy, the quantity of the floating population in our country increases massively along with the economical development and the loose management of household register system. Because of its superior economy and the cultural condition, Beijing becomes one of our country's main inflow places. This floating population's arrival has brought the great influence to Beijing's economy and social development, and it arouses society's universal interest.Through investigates and studies of the areas where the floating people gather in Beijing and the relative departments, the first hand information of the floating people's life and work has been obtained. From the angle of geography, this article analysis different characteristics of the floating persons in Beijing and the reasons, the relationship between the floating people and the public resource disposition, and gives the resolution to the problems.There are seven chapters in the paper:Chapter 1: Introduction. This chapter mainly explained the research background and the significance of this topic, elaborated the domestic and foreign theories of researches to the floating population and according to the material and data collection, it gave a frame of the paper.Chapter 2: A brief introduction of the floating population in our country. This chapter mainly discussed the concept and its related concepts of the floating population, and gave a macroscopic analysis to the reasons which caused the floating population.Chapter 3: The present situation of floating population in Beijing. Uses some targets of population economics, the chapter analyzed the characteristic of the floating population in Beijing. These include changes of the floating person's number, nature constitutive characteristic, social constitutive characteristic and region constitutive characteristic.Chapter 4: The spatial distribution characteristics of floating population in Beijing. By the geographic information, the paper makes comparison study on population, density, gravity center, potentiality of the floating population spatial distribution characteristics and masters the spatial distribution characteristics of floating population.Chapter 5: A typical case study of Chaoyang district. The chapter analyzed the attribute characteristics and the spatial distribution characteristics of floating population in Chaoyang district. The conclusions reflect the characteristics of the floating population in Beijing from different angles and dimensions.Chapter 6: The spatial allocation of floating population and public facilities resources in Beijng. The mainly discusses the spatial allocation between public transportation, health resources, education resources and the floating population. In addition this chapter discusses the mutual influence between the floating population and the public facilities resources.Chapter 7: Conclusions and recommendations. The chapter summarizs the main conclusions of this paper and make recommendations on controlling the floating population number, coordination of spatial distribution, the using of public facilities resources and improving services for the floating population.
