| The education idea of "learning by doing" has existed for a long time. After the Dewey's explanation of the idea, it became the hot topic in education theory and practice furthermore, and played positive effect to the worldwide education and teaching reform. However, the understanding of this theory presents some deflections or even errors in the academe. Because some people didn't grasp the theoretical essential, i.e. they didn't realize the practical feature of "learning by doing", which was just believed a blind and feeling about individual activity. They denied reasonable factors and they regarded the theory as a simple physical action and manipulation. The theoretical deflection leads to various wrong understandings in the present education practice.Based on the reasonable definition of the connotation of "practice", this paper tries to give out a study of "learning by doing" anew and also tries to do some useful researches to "do" from the point of "practice" with the expectation of finding the truth of it. The theory of "learning by doing" pays attention to world of the learners' life and has closely connected with certain social historical culture. It includes the learner's actions, thinking, emotion and meaning. It is a kind of practical learning. By this way, we can clarify the false understanding and find the truth of Dewey's thinking. Furthermore, this paper enriches the theoretical research frame, which also has great significance. Meanwhile, the present paper is hoped to inspire the current reform of new curriculums of foundation education. |
