STS education has formed a new kind of science from the education reform all over the world in recent years, which emphasizes mutual influence among science, technology and society; emphasizes the value tropism during which we understand and dispose technology and social relationship; emphasizes the participation of students and social character, application character and agrestic character of students.China is a big agriculture country, it is one of the most important contents of teaching reform of science that we explore and practice the STS education in middle school of rural area, it is a grand measure that we improve the students' scientific literacy in rural area. As a biology teacher in senior high school in the country, the writer realized clearly the necessary and pressure of the reform of biology education. In order to probe into the new pattern to improve students' scientific literacy of biology, the penman went deep into studying STS education theory, and then combined the characteristic of high school in rural area, applied the theory into own teaching practice, meanwhile made initial achievements. Teaching practice result shows that there is no difference in statistics between experiment class and antitheses class, but for some subjects which have strong colligation and need to analyze and then to solve, the students in experiment class put up certain advantage. Their ability to apply learned knowledge to analyze and solve the problem has been improved. The statistics analysis that a test had for students' biology skills, interests and attitude shows that there are remarkable differences in statistics between experiment class and antitheses class.First of all, the topic introduces briefly the birth background and development status of education, content and biology teaching strategy in high school. At the same time, the topic narrates about the content, method and approach of STS during the biology teaching in the rural area which is based on the process and primary achievements of biology teaching in high middle school. At last, it elaborates the feelings and experience of the writer by actualizing STS teaching practice.
