Investigations On Middle School Students' Biology Scientific Literacy In Liaocheng Urban Area

At present,biological sciences have penetrated into almost every field,which puts forward higher requirements to the level of citizen's biology scientific literacy.So,improving student's biology scientific literacy is the trend of the country's development,its realization depends on the concerted cooperation of schools,families,and society.To do this is a long-term and arduous task.By reading the relevant literature,this article first defined the concepts of scientific literacy and biology scientific literacy.And discussed its contents from three parts of knowledge literacy,ability literacy and emotional literacy.Then,analyzed and combed the research status of the biology scientific literacy at Chinese and the foreign countries.Taked the example of senior high school biology compulsory 2,listed the entry point for improving the literacy lever's related materials in this book,analyzed and applied it,and listed the specific teaching objectives.Then got on predict test of the biology scientific literacy level questionnaire in a small scale,adjusted the questionnaire of the situation,then made a formal survey on the biology scientific literacy was conducted among high school students from four middle schools in Liaocheng district.Analyzed the general level of student's biology scientific literacy and the short board.Questionnaires were analyzed with SPSS software and showed: 1)Students' overall literacy levels was not high in the biology scientific literacy.The average score of the biology scientific literacy for four school students was 66.78,among them,the highest biology scientific literacy level was 70.98 points in the No.1 Middle School student's,followed,the No.2 Middle School students was 69.85 points,the lower than average are the Huayu high school(64.03)and the No.3 Middle School(62.27);2)In the three parts of the scientific literacy,the student's knowledge literacy score was 74.73 points,ability literacy score was 55.89 points and emotional literacy score was 69.23 points,research had shown,the students' ability literacy were lacked.In four schools,the highest level of knowledge literacy was the No.2 Middle School students,the highest level of ability literacy and emotional literacy was the No.1 Middle School students;3)Through thesignificance test,found the inspiration to students on the teacher's lecture,the closeness to social life were a significant impact on students' biology scientific literacy levels;4)The different schools students had different ways of receiving knowledge,the No.1 Middle School students tended to the way of reading,the Huayu Middle School students tended to the easier learning way,they liked watching technology shows.In summary,each school should take targeted measures to improve students biology scientific literacy,it suggested the Huayu Middle School should focus on improving students' knowledge literacy,the No.1 Middle School and the No.2 Middle School should focus on improving students' ability literacy.The No.3 Middle School should pay attention to improve the students' emotional literacy.
