| This paper studies functions of national defense education in college.Recently, national defense education has played an invaluable role in the field of higher education and also trained a large number of talents for the cause of national defense. However,a lot of problems have been emerged in the process that conducting national defense education in college.The main reason is that the researches on national defense education set off only recently and have not systematized theories. And the implementation of national defense education in college is also in piloting phrase.This paper is based on the theory of dialectic and historical materialism, combines the theory and practice,in a static and dynamic,macro and micro way alike. It also mentions current status of national defense education in college,its current function and methodology,and major obstacles in implementation.This paper gives suggestions on how to strengthen the implementation of national defense education in college.This paper consists of five chapters.In the first chapter I lay out the objectives, current situations and methodologies adopted in this and related studies.In the second chapter,I give definition of national defense education.Also I discuss its purposes, contents and features.Different types of national defense education are also introduced in this chapter.The third chapter is focused on the functions of national defense education,especially on safeguarding,strategically deterrence and its social, political,economic,and cultural functions.It also stresses that national defense education,as part of civilian education,has implications on individuals' ethic, intelligent,physical and psychological education.Forth chapter addresses mainly about the implementation of national defense education.I introduce and suggest conditions of implementation,and talk about some current and potential obstacles in implementation.Fifth chapter detailed countermeasures about implementation of national defense education are introduced.They cover different subjects such as government regulation,courses designing,institutions and faculty building-up as well as financing.At last,I summarized this paper's content briefly. |
