| The research tries to compare the different strategies used by good students and ordinary students when they deal with conical section questions with the purpose to provide some practical reference, which can be applied in coical section teaching to help develop their ability to work out conical section questions..The main purpose of the research is to explore the senior high school students'thinking strategies of solving conical section questions, and examine the different ways of thinking between good and ordinary students, so that the according teaching advice can be provided.The research methods are questionnaire and solving question process reports. 300 Grade 3 students in AnShan No. 13 Senior high school are chose to fill in the questionnaire about thinking strategies in solving conical section questions. 3o good and ordinary students respectively are compared to find out the different thinking strategies to write the report.. the followings are the conclusions: 1..Based on the research, seven strategies are found. 1. the strategy of digging up information; 2; the strategy of model recognitions 3. the strategy of changing figure into graphics. 4. the strategy of transform 5. the strategy of special thinking 6. the strategy of reasoning 7. the strategy of reflection. the seven strategies can be classified into 3 aspects after the further factor analysis.: features of questions, the process of solving problems and reflection.2. after quality analysis and quantity analysis , the report of the process of solving problems is written.
