The graceful sound of pipa brings great joy to the children when learning to play pipa, which will arouse their desire at first. However, the pure interests are not stable and are liable to transfer when practicing many boring basic skills which always cause their exhaustion and lost of their learning interests. In fact, every child has limitless potentiality. From a pipa teacher's point of view, what musical behaviors and activities we are expecting should be a learning process which is full of happiness and enjoyment. Our education should include some proper principles and skills as well as love. Teachers ought to arouse and cultivate children's learning interests in playing pipa comprehensively in order that interests will run through the whole pipa teaching process and make children feel relaxation and delightment while playing. Thus, they may indeed find pipa learning as a joyful game.This thesis is aimed at the studies of younger children's musical interests, performing interests, musical environment, textbook application and teaching taste in pipa teaching. The author will conclude the importance of fostering children's interests in learning and performing pipa and explain the development of learning interests is the key point whether children are able to learn to play pipa very well. In addition, the author also pays great efforts to find better methods and ways to develop children's learning interests and try every means to put forward the children's pipa teaching positively.
