Reading is not only a way of learning, but also the basic and important ability to survive today. Cultivate young children interested in reading help them be able to read and full of passion in reading when they grow up. Children need adults, especially their mothers, to accompany with them when they are reading. Mothers use scientific methods to teach their young children help a lot to make children become independent readers.The research chose 2 1-2 year-old children with their mothers and 2 3-4 year-old children with their mothers as the subjects. Observe the early reading actives between children and their mothers during one year. Use Microanalysis and case study to analyze the observation materials. The study examined the status of children's reading interests, used multiple liner regression to find the relationship between children's high reading interests and mother's direction during early reading actives, used nonparametric tests to compare the difference about mother's direction in early reading between high interests children and low interests ones.The result shows that: (1) The 4 children are different in the reading interests. The older children not always have higher interests than the younger ones. (2) Mother ask more questions make 1-2 year-old child more interested in reading. Mother not ask too much, explain and discuss the pictures with child and help him to operate make 3-4 year-old child more interested in reading. (3) Mother control the procedure of reading in different levels make children show different reading interests: mother highly control the speech actives and not highly control the non-speech actives during early reading make 1-2 year-old child more interested in reading. Mother neither control too much in speech nor non-speech actives make 3-4 year-old child more interested in early reading. |
