From "Ye-Ni-Deng" To "Ha-Kong"

This paper, based on the case of two therapy ritual in the Lahu nationality villages which is in the Lancang county, through religion and ritual aspects, by utilizing the symbolic theory and social construction theory, describes and analysis the relation between hygiene sickness and religion in Lahu country. Therapy ritual is a normal cultural phenomena prevailing in Lahu nationality region. It contains nationality peculiarity of the logic of religion culture and therapy principle. Therefore, concerning and researching on this issue have high scientific value and reality. This article uses the Local Religious system to construct the symbolic system of"Ersha(God)—Ancestors---Ni(spirits)"in tradition religion, it also suggests that this symbolize system is an important way to understand the society-culture of Lahu nationality. In Lahu villages, illnesses and natural catastrophes were considered as"dangerous power"threatening people's healthy and stability of society. On the advent of the"dangerous power", local ethnic people use the integrated culture system to explain the reasons, instruct the implementation of remedial and precautionary measures. The author think the most important reason that local people don't go to hospital, except of the constrictions in economic and traffic condition, is the local cultural logic in religious belief, this cultural logic instructs the Lahu people to find the ways to cure their illness. At last, the author, by using the case of therapy ritual and the lyric in the ritual, analyzes and reveals the culture connotation and symbolic meaning behind the ritual, explains that, in the Lahu villages, the therapy ritual religion and practice are related the natural, social, and moral principals of Lahu people, and the"Ersha(god)—Ancestors---Ni(spirit)"symbolic system explains Lahu people's local universe viewpoint, it also offers the fundamental paradigm and value to assure social moral orders in Lahu society.
