Life education, the education about life, was started in western countries in 1960s and it's gradually developed in 1980s. In about 1990s, Taiwan became the first city to carry out the life education systemetically in a large scale in China. Later on, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administration District also began to advocate it. Meanwhile, provinces from mainland such as Liaoning, Shanghai and Hunan all promulgated the outline or schedule on how to enforce life education. By the time of 21st century, the life education has become a global educating subject and people also recognized it's importance. However, how can it be undergoing such a rapid development in China, especially with such unfavorable social situations as Knowledge explode, National College Entrance Test, and complexity of textbooks? What special contents and requrirements does life education consist? In what way can we put such an education into practice?The author insists that although there have been fairly great achievements on the research and study of life educationin recent years, yet the specific implement is still detained, especially in senior high schools, where life education is completely empty. Because of the heavier pressure from the proportion of high school students entering college and the society as well, many high school students comitted suicide or maltreated themselves. Nevertheless, it's urgent to advocate life education in senior high school. In this article, the author first gives us a comprehensive introduction of life education from it's definition and truth, then claims how urgent it is to carry it out in senior high school through a combined analyse of the phychology features of high school students and the phenomenon of their indeferences and unconcernings about life. Finally, the author believes that various ways can be used to enforce the life education. For example, going through different subjects, making special topic reports or through afte-rschool activities, so that the students could strengthen their conciousness of life and its importance . At the same time, they could learn how to create the value of life. Only in this way can they enjoy both physical and mental health, realize their dreams and achieve the success of their career and life.
