The teaching of classics reading plays a significant role in traditional educational system as an important Chinese teaching method and content. Classics reading plays an important role in Chinese teaching, which can strengthen students' language sense, cultivate their ability of thinking, improve their writing ability and enrich their inner world. And the latest Chinese teaching syllabus has re-expounded its nature and educational concept embedded in it, while putting more emphasis on its practical significance. In the historical background of prevailing mass culture, the brand-new socio-cultural context poses great challenge for the traditional Chinese education esp. reading instruction. Mass culture changes and fashionable goods have been one part of juvenile life. In our daily Chinese teaching, what we have done and what we expected are often opposites. We intended to make our students more interested in learning Chinese and help them form the good habit of reading Chinese; however, the results are worrying. From reading this classic inherent weaknesses of popular culture on students read classics from the harmful effects of secondary teachers in reading classic role in the process and practice results in the four students read classic issues to discuss.
