The orientation of educational value means value relation that the subjects of education and education as subject actually follow, orientate, construct and realize in their practical activities, especially in the results of their practical activities. Then, value orientation of Vocational Education could be understood as the cognition and attitude of various subjects of society to a series of basic attributes of Vocational Education system, such as connotation, functions, and effects and so on. It displays as the cognition of subjects of society to Vocational Education, the choice to educational contents based on the cognition, and the cultivation goals of Vocational Education in the period.This paper take the time as the clue, made an overall analysis on the historical development of Chinese modern times Vocational Education. It concluded three crucial stages and revealed that transition of value orientation of Vocational Education was the deep cause affecting Vocational Education reform based on the historical background and historical phenomena study of the three important stages. The generation and development of Vocational Education was not only the reflection of main social educational value orientation on the requirements of the times, but also the reply to the requirements of the times. The value orientation of Vocational Education, varying at different times, was resulted from the integrated effect of social productivity, political and economic system and culture ideology at a certain time, but the effect of different factors varying at different times, and varying with the promotion of people's cognitive level and changes of subjects'need.This paper fully investigated the development process of Chinese modern time's Vocational Education, using the method of dialectical materialism. It concluded the intrinsically transition of value orientation behind the law of development. And it promoted the new updated developmental trend of value orientation of Vocational Education: Not only concerning social's development, but more attention to people's development; Not only fulfilling society's current need, but more future need, fulfilling sustainable development need of people and social lastly, and achieving dialectical unification of social standard and individual standard with the view of scientific development.
