| In June 2001, in China the New Curriculum Reform started trial, which is essential part of our education reform, and promoted education reform to develop in depth. The key factor of success of the New Curriculum Reform is teacher, otherwise teacher's culture is the integration of the ideology, value system and behavioral pattern, which affects teachers'daily teaching activities, development of schools, students and teachers. With carrying out the New Curriculum Reform in depth, the traditional teacher's culture hinders the New Curriculum Reform and development of teacher.This paper discusses the problems about the transformation of the traditional teacher's culture in the New Curriculum Reform and tries to construct a new model of teacher's culture. First of all, on the basis of the outcome of teacher's culture research and the author's practical research, the author defines the concept about culture, teacher's culture, transformation and the transformation of teacher's culture. Then by investigating teacher's behavior, it demonstrates the real situation of teacher's culture. Since teachers can't be separated from the classroom and school, this paper studies the teaching behavior in classroom and interpersonal communication behavior in school to demonstrate the teacher's culture.This paper mainly uses two ways of interview and observation, from two angles looking into the realities of the teacher's culture: one is teaching behavior in classroom; the other is interpersonal communication relations among teachers. The author attends lecture in some school in Hebei, takes part in staff activities and interviews the teachers and administrators which demonstrate the shortcomings of the traditional teachers'culture. On teaching they misunderstand the connotation of new idea; On communication, they act individualism, balkanization, collaborative culture, contrived collegiality. In the exam-oriented education, the traditional teachers'culture has authoritative, conservative and administrative level characteristics. This situation hindered the in-depth implementation of the new curriculum. In the social transformation and the background of the new curriculum, teacher's traditional cultural weaknesses become apparent, and the teachers'culture must be transformed. Based on the philosophy, culture, as well as theory of education, this paper try to construct a new model of teachers'culture, which has the characteristics of reflection, cooperation, innovation, democracy and flat. In this paper from the individual teacher aspect, advocating some operational new professional life, from school aspect, constructing excellent inter-school environment and constructing the virtual teaching and research between the different schools, provide some theoretical guidance for building a new model teacher's culture. |
