Oral communication is the most important human communication tool. Enhancing the ability of oral communication is the general trend of mother-tongue teaching of the world today. Many foreign experts and scholars have also done a lot of research, providing a theoretical basis for our oral communication teaching. Many domestic experts and scholars have begun to further study the new channels of oral communication teaching, and more at the grassroots level language teachers explore the scientific and reasonable way to train student better oral communication in the teaching efforts. However, in the rural high schools because of their own conditions, the development of teaching oral communication is still difficult. I, as a rural high school language teachers, am deeply obliged to promote rural high school teaching in oral communication.In view of this, treating the teachers and students of four schools in Shijiazhuang as studying objects, the author studies the present situations of the rural schools on the basis of the research into documents, using surveys, interviews and other research methods. Surveys show that in rural high schools teachers are poor in oral communication teaching, and it is poor in oral communication environment both inside and outside oral communication materials, as well as lack of oral communication teaching materials and lack of evaluation mechanisms. Based on the survey results and my own working experience, the author proposed solutions to this problem: to improve teachers communication ability in the rural high schools; to open elective course etiquette education; to apply teaching materials wisely; to develop special teaching materials of oral communication in rural areas; to develop evaluation systems. |
