Research on school effectiveness evaluation has always been a hot issue study in the area of school management since the latter part of the twentith century, which reflects the trend of research transformation from teaching and curriculum to the whole school activities.The enhancement of school effectiveness evaluation is an action and process which school organization adopts to achieve high effectiveness. Its purpose is to promote school improvement and school development. This thesis mainly adopts two methods of research and the theory analysis based on analyzing the documents of theoretical research and test research of school effectiveness evaluation theory. Through gathering and sorting out the relative materials about school effectiveness evaluation and its enhancement which put emphasis on the definition of school effectiveness evaluation, the relative factors and characteristics of effective school and the concept of school effectiveness evaluation framework from domestic and foreign documents, the thesis gives a conclusion on what is the core connotation of school effectiveness evaluation research.This dissertation researches on effectiveness evaluation of middle schools. Based on the analysis of materials about domestic and international school effectiveness, we review the developing course and expound the structure, fields and the characteristics on school effectiveness research. We also summarize the relevant research on effective schools and effectiveness evaluation.
