| In the field of education, the studies on learner autonomy have been drawn great attention. According to the characteristics of current researches, the combination of theories on learner autonomy and English learning in senior high school can promote the reform of English teaching, and benefit students'English learning. Therefore, this paper intends to analyze the problems of learner autonomy existing in English learning of senior high school students through an investigation and suggest some countermeasures to the main problems.This paper consists of four parts. The introduction part discusses the necessity and the possibility of doing research on learner autonomy in English learning of senior high school students from the aspects of education reform, English teaching in senior schools and students themselves etc. Secondly, the background information on the studies of learner autonomy in foreign language teaching both abroad and in China is introduced. Finally, the theoretical and practical significances of this research are indicated.Chapter One introduces the related theories on learner autonomy, including the definitions, features, theoretical basis, and influential factors of learner autonomy. Based on these theories, the understanding of learner autonomy is talked about. In addition, learner autonomy in foreign language learning is introduced.The second chapter is an analysis based on an investigation in a senior high school. The aim is to find the main problems of students'autonomous English learning. The questions are about making English learning aims and plans, adjusting and controlling English learning process, reflecting on English learning results and taking advantages of English learning resources. The results of the investigation are analyzed and the main problems are found.In Chapter Three, based on the investigation results, countermeasures on how to solve the existing problems in autonomous English learning in senior high school are proposed. |
