A Research On Job Burnout Of High School Teachers In Shenyang

The teacher burnout has been becoming the focus of education and psychological research in recent years. Many people have paid great attention to teacher burnout, because burnout is very common among the teachers. The negative effects are harmful to teachers, students and even the whole society, so it is extremely important to do something in this field. This research investigated the condition of the teacher burnout which Shenyang senior high school teachers had in the background of the current curriculum reform.From describing the symptom, the scope and the degree of the senior high school tercher burnout, we try to find out characteristics and rules of tercher burnout in Shenyang senior high school. In order to achieve the goal of this research, firstly, we translated and revised Maslach Burnout Inventory, and designed effective factors inventories related to the teacher burnout. Then we investigated 300 high school teachers of Shenyang by using these inventories.The results show:1. In Shenyang, quite high proportion of the high school teachers have a tendency towards burnout, howerer, this phenomenon is not serious on the whole.2.The development of burnout of high school teachers in Shenyang is a tendency of"low in two sides,high in Middle"With their teaching year, teachers with 16-20 years job experiences record the highest scores on job burnout, followed by 11-15 years.3. Gender, schooling records, the title of professional post have some influence to one or some dimensionality of teacher burnout, but have no signicant difference in each dimensionality.4. Type of school, director of the class or not, grade, subject and income have significcant influence to one or some dimensionality of teacher burnout. Above all, from the professional development of teachers and the perspective of the organization and management, gave some thinkings and made some recommendations for preventing and mitigating high school teacher burnout.
