The Effects Of The Pyruvate Supplement For The Energy Metabolism Of The Body

The study objective: By the pyruvate supplement on the rat body from the outer derivation, we would like to observe the effects at the energy metabolism and weight controlling to the rat body.The study method: 20 male Wister rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: the control group and the group with pyruvate supplement. The dose of the pyruvate supplement was 0.5g/kg/d. The breeding time was four weeks. We determined the body weight of the rats with the balance and have figured out the difference of the body weight in 4 weeks. We determined the serum glucose difference in both the artery and vein with the portable serum glucose instrument made in Japan after the swimming in one hour. We determined the serum TC and FFA by colorimetry.The study results: The results shows that the pyruvate supplement for 4 weeks can remarkably increase the serum FFA(P<0.01) and the serum glucose difference in both the artery and the vein(P<0.01) and control the rats'body weight(P<0.05); at the same time, decrease the serum TC(P<0.01).The conclution: It concludes that the pyruvate supplement can decrease the body fat gain of the rats'through accelerating the fat metabolism and the FFA utilization and promoting the energy metabolism of the body.
