With the progress of the society and the blessed advantage, the university has already been in the important position of the sport's development gradually.Under the influence of the reform from the school physical education,the reform of the major of physical education is carrying out actively.According to the Guiding ideology of " Health first" and need of " National Fitness Plan ",the Guiding ideology of the reform in the major of the physical education will be train the new-type Physical Education Teachers.The basketball has been the Compulsory courses in the major of physical education,and ccupied the important position in teaching all the time. The teaching of the basketball course is one of the main ways to realize the goal and task of training. The research of the common teaching course will contribute to holding the current situation of basketball course.It can also carry on the teaching reform more fullerly and deeperly.The research has used methods, such as document law,Survey method, Mathematical Statistics, Logical analysis,etc.To the study on the common teaching course in the major of the physical education,as a reference to the requirement for training the student's ability in associated documents, start with the training objective in the major of physical education, as the start with the point of the Many elements in Teaching System to the major of Physical Education,use the opportunity of the reform on the Undergraduate Teaching,to do the research on the Present situation to the common course of basketball.The conclusions are as follows: (1) The teaching goal of P.E undergraduates with general basketball in Henan province basically embodies the demands of the special outline issued by China in 2003. (2)The general course of basketball are almost arranged in the first school year, and the teaching hours of 60% schools have reached 72 class hour. The proportion of teaching hours between skill-tactics and special skills is unballanced, which reflects the insufficient attention in training students'special skills and real abilities. The teaching material of each school is single and the assorted media courseware is short. (3) The age structure of basketball teachers is more reasonable. Half of them have master degree and good business level and teaching ability and careful teaching attitude. While the proportion of high title is smaller, they have low reseach ability and gengral rank of referee and less opportunities of further study. (4) Students are generally interested in the course, have clearer motivation and right study attitude.The big number of students and the few hour of study and their bad base of basketball skills are the main factors influencing the teaching quality and effect. (5) At present, the teaching ways mainly focus on the traditional methods, while the single media and multi-media have not used more maturedly in the teaching course of theories.(6)The equipment and places, in teachers'and students'opinion, basically meet related needs.The good atmosphere of basketball supplies the teaching with beneficial conditions. (7) The present pattern of test is the one of final evaluation which mainly evaluates the theory and technique and achievement at other times, but ignore the progress of the students. Various ways should be used integratedly to complete and enthin the evaluation contents and means, which is the first step of building a scientific system of evaluation.For the Analysis of the problem objectively, the reform ideas on the Essential basketball Course are:(1)To further strengthen the importance understanding of teaching reform on Essential basketball Course.
