| Wang Yang-ming was the most influential philosopher in Ming Dynasty and one of the major representatives of Neo-Confucianism. His doctrine of mind, strengthened the orientation of value and cultural spirit of being a saint by making moral effort, which were founded by Confucius and Mencius but developed by the Confucians in Song Dynasty. After realizing why it should be so in LongChang, Wang founded and took advantage of academies to propaganda his idea, In his home town, Wang gave lecturing and developed his ideas for six years. As Yangming Idealist School becoming ripe, a group of scholars, which believed his ideas, formed around Wang, and so founded Yangming Academic School.Wang was not only a thinker, but a great educator. His academic ideas were spread as he taughted and educated. He accumulated a rich wealth of experiences in those academic lectures, and spread his valuable thoughts of education. But he held the ideas that for example, "to learning to become a sage", "the best study from self understanding", "the unity of knowing and acting". His teaching thought is consistent with his academic idea. Prospering Ming Academies saw the formation of Wang's teaching thoughts. The paper discusses the teaching thought and method, and the positive significance. Nowadays, many of his proposals have the heuristic effect to the present educational activities.This essay consists of five parts .The first part: The preface. It explains the origin, theoretical and practical significances of this study, analyze the finished researches results, pointing out the inadequate, and introduce the methods used during this study.The second part begins with the change of early stage of Ming Dynasty, and dis- cusses the history of development from beginning to end of the Wang's idea,comb out Wang's effort to be a saint and the evolution of his effort theory.In the third part: I discuss the basic structure of Yangming's Philosophy of Mind that was the theoretic basis of the paper.In the fourth part: Yangming's Academies were totlely discussed in the academic goals, the teaching method and the academic research, were prospering in the history of the Chinese academies once again.The fifth part discusses Wang Yangming's academies valuable in the mordern society. That may give us important opinions to teaching activities. |
