Motivation is the inner power to inspire, impel and maintain online learning. Self-cognition of the learner is beneficial to maintain sustainable interest on online learning. Therefore, research on online learning motivation and stimulation approaches are supposed to be taken into good consideration. Thus, research on these topics has its value in theory as well as practice instruction on online education. I will summarize the structure and content of my thesis as follows:Firstly, from the definition of motivation, on the basis of collecting, trimming, and analyzing relevant data, I found motivation of online learning, an important issue, is still on its way of being thoroughly explored. Meanwhile, research on relevant files and interdisciplinary subject, theory of motivation, behaviorism, cognitivism, conformation, humanism, sociology and philosophy established theory foundation on my research on motivation of online learning.Secondly, perspectives from interdisciplinary subjects, revealed the basic structure and characteristics of motivation of online learning on aspects of interior and exterior structure. The characteristics are presented on the following two sides. On the one hand, from the interior aspect, motivation of online learning bears the characteristics of structure complexity, inner-orientation, utilitarian motive. Meanwhile, it also bears unique characteristics in interest stimulation, emotion edification, willingness affection and character of the learner. On the other hand, from exterior aspect, modern society and online learning environment are the good source to stimulate online learning. Analysis from both inner and exterior aspects, the frame of motivation system emerged.Thirdly, the more analyses found that in the traditional learning massages were pushed to students who thus passively received these stimulus, but in the learning based on the line students themselves pull the massages from the network thus they are active. The purpose of study on motivation of online learning lies in its stimulation on learning online. Namely, the motivation of online learning could be stimulated from inner aspect of interest, emotion, willingness, and character as well as exterior aspect of family, society and learning environment.Lastly, based on the recognition on motivation of online learning, Introspection into the reason why students lack interest in online learning. I realized that teachers and students both act important roles in online learning. Optimizing the network environment and improving teaching process are indispensable in online learning. In addition, I made a design on online education. First of all, reinforce the role of teachers who guide students to learn online, developed the source of online learning. Teachers are supposed to activate the motivation of students in accordance with theory of efficiency, attribution, long-time and temporary motivation, relation between demand and motivation. Secondarily, the designs of system guidance, student interaction, learning monitoring, auxiliary reference, and arty video interface, all the above create network environment to stir up learner's motivation. Thirdly, activate the motivation of learners combing teaching aim with learning aim, together with auto activation of the students, teaching appraisement etc.
