Study On The Competitive Sports Development Trend And The Strategies Of Chinese Male Basketball

Since the 21st century, basketball sport has undergone four international matches, From these four international matches we can see the current situation of world basketball sport---European teams and American teams have been in the lead in differentiation, and they are followed by the Oceania teams. The African teams have made rapid progress, but Asian teams are still in slow advance. Since the 21st century there has been the gradual decreasing among the high-level teams of Europe and America. American team is no longer the unconquerable"myth"and it has lost the absolute dominant position. But it can not be denied that America is still the country of the highest level in basketball in present world, and the basketball stars gather in America. The strength of European teams is rapidly enhanced and German, France, Lithuania, Spain, Italy and Greek has the close strength, and each of them can contend the first eights with Argentina, Brazil and Canada. The rapid improved Australia and New Zealand also can contend with Europe and America. The level of Asian and African teams linger at 13th-16th place. The male basketball teams rarely enter the top six; Chinese team is still stable and dominant. The arrangement of players and the team pattern is more and more reasonable. It is possible for Chinese team to keep the 8th-10th place with constant effort and it may advance in some special situations.As is known that in the end of 1950s the skills and level of Chinese team developed into its peak, and formed the skill pattern of"firm, quick, exact, agile"and the tactics of"emphasis on agility, attack, and quickness". In the middle of 1960s, Chinese basketball career, the basketball competitive level, the width and depth of popularity, the scientific research and the sense of basketball and the set-up of the theoretical foundation all form its own features. In the end of 1980s, with the improvement of offense speed and the increasing of quick offense times, the structure of quick offense undergoes the flexible changing. The fixed response and the traditional propulsion are replaced by dynamic response of several players. The pattern of two-or-three player's propulsion is replaced by the tactic pattern of five-player's intensive propulsion. In the late 1990s, Chinese team has developed strength style technique and physique, which comes to be in line with world. But with the development of strength and height, Chinese team gradually lose the tactics and features of"quick, exact, agile". After entering the 21st century, some excellent centers like Yao Ming and WangZhi-zhi, have emerged in Chinese team. However, the performances are not so satisfactory, but Chinese team always lingers out of the top eight, even in the embarrassment of falling back.The latest four international matches make us realize Chinese team is far behind the other high-level teams. In the 15th World Male Basketball Championship in 2006, Chinese team only gained the 15th place because of WangShi peng's magic three-point long shot at the last moment. But Chinese team is far behind the other teams in many aspects---not only the aspect of skills and tactics, but also physical quality and consciousness. But it should be analyzed in a dialectical way. We should know our advantages as well as disadvantages. In the 15th World Male Basketball Championship in 2006, the average height of Chinese players is the top of all the teams, and the average age is less than 23, which is the youngest of the all. We can see we have the advantages in height and age.The 29th Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, and it is the grand sports games held by China. It is the opportunity for Chinese male basketball team to break through and get good performance. Based on the 15th World Male Basketball Championship in 2006 and integrating the four matches, the thesis mainly focuses on the scientific analysis of the offense-defense ability of Chinese team and other high-level teams, aiming to find the weak points of Chinese team and make the exact measures, and hoping to provide certain theory foundation for the Chinese male basketball team's improvement in competition.
