College Entrance Examination has always been a hot topic. Since 1977, it has been talked about and reformed. Rationally speaking, the uniform College Entrance Examination is a relatively fair system used to select people with ability which people choose carefully. It survived on cultural soil. But it's also an educational evaluation system that has good and bad effects, and at the same time it needs reforming continually so as to avoid bad effects. Especially, from the year 2004 when new curriculum reform experiment was performed, the hot topic of College Entrance Examination has swept over China like heat waves. Therefore, it makes great sense to make research on College Entrance Examination reform based on the new curriculum reform. Not only does it relate to the benefit of students and schools, but also it relates to the implement of education equity in the context of new curriculum reform. Some research work has been made on College Entrance Examination at present, but most of them are on the values and theories, and what they suggested on College Entrance Examination is too ideal. This dissertation tries to explore some feasible strategy in the context of new curriculum reform based on the practice of new curriculum reform.Firstly, this dissertation makes a clear relation between new high–school curriculum reform and College Entrance Examination reform, so as to provide theoretical base for College Entrance Examination. New high–school curriculum reform has its special historic background, and both its ideal and aim are positive, because it suits the quests of equality education. At the same time, more and more attention has been paid to the reform of College Entrance Examination in order to keep pace with the new high–school curriculum reform. College Entrance Examination reform is necessary. It also has its own ideal and aim. They are supplement and they promote each other. But in real circumstances, their contradictions need paying due attention to harmonize.Shandong province is one of the experimental provinces carrying out new high–school curriculum reform. It's also a large province where too many students register for College Entrance Examination. Clearing up the practice of new high–school curriculum reform and College Entrance Examination reform play an important role. In Shandong province, the education and teaching ideal advocated by new high–school curriculum reform has been partly identified. The highly uniform curriculum system has greatly changed. Local place and schools have got some freedom on curriculum. Teaching materials have become various. The teachers'practice is gradually changing. All the above are the experience of the new curriculum reform. But College Entrance Examination still baffles the advance of new curriculum reform, although College Entrance Examination has always been reformed. In Shandong province, the examination subjects are always being adjusted more or less. The new College Entrance Examination project is 3+X+1 in 2007. It will continue in 2008. In the project, 1 means the Basic Capability Test which is the innovated point in the reform. This test embodies the trend of subject–integration and it's a beneficial try to test students'integration ability. The purpose of reform is to find out problems and provide suggestion. By referring to materials, thinking rationally and relating to practice, I find some problems about College Entrance Examination. It could be seen as follows: the selecting function of College Entrance Examination does not adapt to the reality of popularity of college education; the contents of College Entrance Examination are based on knowledge; the style of College Entrance Examination is too single; the recruit and matriculate way rely on grades too much. Therefore, in the context of new high–school curriculum, College Entrance Examination should become adaptable examination; the contents should be changed gradually from test ability to test potential; the once uniform College Entrance Examination should be changed into different kinds and types of twice or more times examinations at different levels and different categories; the proportion of recruit must be reasonably distributed, and try to evaluate matriculates in multiple way.
