| This paper aims at scientifically clarifying basic concept and characteristics of multiple explanation, a new teaching method in reading Chinese text, discussing some questions that appears in teaching process of the multiple explanation, and inquiring into the methodology of cultivating student's multiple explanation reading ability with the aid of research results of the psychology, reading study, acceptation response theory, and the linguistics.The paper divides into four parts, "the introduction", "the understanding of multiple explanation", "the teaching of multiple explanation", and "the teaching approaches of multiple explanation".The concept of multiple explanation originates from two aspects. 1) The current teaching modes during Chinese language reading features "feeding style" and "question-and-answer style" by neglecting student's principal action in text reading and losing their initiative participating consciousness during study, and thereby neglects their individuality development. 2) Promul gation of Chinese Language New Curriculum Goal provides the basis for multiple explanation teaching. As a result, the concept of multiple explanation is put forward. Its connotation includes multiplication in reading preparation, independent inquiry in process of reading and differences in reading results. On this basis, the author suggests that in essence, multiple explanation is the process in which reader communicates with the text on one hand, and communicates with readers on the other hand, which is different from traditional middle-school reading teaching methods. However, some undesired questions, such as "discourse right", and "discussion away from the text" occurs during the teaching practice of multiple explanation. The author made a discussion against these questions, and provides some strategies about how to improve student's ability in multiple explanation. Convenient passage leading to comprehend the text should firstly be paved to awaken student's self-consciousness, then appropriate reading-text comprehension methods should be utilized to improve student's reading comprehension ability, and finally the process of multiple explanation should be emphasized to cultivate student's self-inquiry reading ability.Multiple explanation is put forward in New Curriculum Standard for the first time. In middle school stage, how should we carry Multi-facet Reading Comprehension teaching to train student's reading ability waits for our study and improvement in theory and practice. |
