| Cohesion in university mainly refers to the cohesion exerted by university to teachers. Its connotation includes the attraction of university to teachers, the centripetal force of teachers on university and the admittance among teachers or affinity shown by them. Work in university is an integrated one. We need to cooperate to unite all the staff and strengthen the cohesion to successfully improve the work, enhance the level of education running, and stabilize the teacher staff in university. Thus if we elaborate the connotation, character and value of university cohesion, analyze its influential factors, learn about the cause for the status quo, and inquire into the countermeasure of enhancing university cohesion, we can provide reference for the construction of university cohesion. This article induces the dynamic, motivated and multilateral character of university cohesion on the basis of predecessors'studies. And it points out the value of university cohesion which is the essential for the university's survival and development as well as the foundation of cooperation between teachers to urge them to form the feeling of pride, belonging, responsibility and working enthusiasm, and to standardize teachers'behavior. Moreover, this article analyses carefully the main internal and external factors that influence the university cohesion. The former includes the concern given by society to talents,the social status of teachers, the popularity of the university as well as the external pressure of university. The latter includes the common goals and work attraction, structure of the organization, institution of management, campus culture as well as the administrator and his / her interpersonal relationship.This article also describes the status quo of university cohesion: the university cohesion is not strong enough, teachers are not loyal to their university enough, and they are not satisfied with many internal constructions. The cause of this status quo is: the university has no common goals and the work is unattractive; the structure design of organizations is unreasonable, the administrative authority and the academic authority are uncoordinated; the control system is unscientific; the campus culture construction is not proper; the superintendent is not charming enough, and runs the school in a improper way; the interpersonal relationship is not harmonious. The countermeasure that strengthens the university cohesion is to formulate common goals, enhance work attraction, design matrix structure which the flat netted type organizational structure and the academic authority and the administrative authority unify to establish the reasonable salary system and the double ladder step title promotion system as well as the fair appraisal system of examination and assessment, to construct exquisite, comfortable, campus culture, to promote the superintendent's charm and select the appropriate management. In this way, we can form a harmonious interpersonal relationship between the superintendent and teachers, teachers and students. |
