At the beginning of the new century, China officially started the Basic education Curriculum Reform Project in 21st Century. The new curriculum reform exhibits its vitality and vigor, thereby bringing exciting changes to the whole basic education, for example, the conception of education changes; the reformatory passion among teachers rises; the teaching of teacher and the learning of students change; a social atmosphere of participating in and supporting the course reform appears. The curriculum reform provides broader development space for basic education and teaching.As the reform goes further, problems emerge inevitably. The existence of these problems has affected the advancement of the curriculum reform already and become barriers of the reform. Being a practical teacher of history in middle school for many years, I exert to reflect these phenomena and problems under the stimulation of a teacher's responsibility and the sense of mission. I intend to survey briefly on the phenomenon and problems exposed in the reform to history curriculum of junior middle school, under the direction of historical materialism and practical materialism, while applying knowledge of history, historical education and pedagogic.Firstly, this paper orientates the reform to history curriculum of junior middle school through the goal, function, content and regional characteristic of this reform. Secondly, through dialectic analysis on the reform effect, this paper stresses a lot on the problems and misunderstandings during the history curriculum reform of junior middle school. Thirdly, it analyzes and reveals the factors that affect the reform effect of history curriculum of junior middle school. Finally, it puts forwards the countermeasures for solving these problems, so as to find the methods, approach to avoid detours during the history curriculum reform, thus improving the effect of the reform and constantly achieving the ideal of this reform.
