Multimedia Computer-Assisted Instruction On "Structure And Function Of Plant Cell

Multimedia technology is developing quickly, its educational application has propelled to make huge reform on the medium, content, mode, form, method and sense of teaching ,and promoted the quality and efficiency of teaching .Facing modernization for education ,it requires multimedia computer-assisted instruction (MCAI).At present, MCAI are mostly used to classroom instruction in our country. It is the teaching software that restricts it to be used widely. With the instruction of the theory and methods of multimedia courseware design, we applied multimedia writing system "Powerpoint" making a displaying courseware for assisting classroom instruction of plant, which named "structure and function of plant cell". The courseware making procedure as following: determine the subject of courseware-instruction design-system design-compile manuscript-prepare material-edit courseware-teaching trial and evaluation-form courseware .We have given a minute description of every making step, especially about instruction design and system design. The results based on the statistics and analysis about the questionnaires of teaching trial showed that: students are interested in the course, its primary reason is that the courseware owning clear graphics, vivid animations; the graphics and images are good mediums on presenting cellular structure; student and teacher are still the most important factors that affected the MCAI effects; MCAI is a good means to improve the efficiency of learning in class and observe abilities, deserving to be popularized. According to the response of the students and teachers, the analysis indicated that our courseware had the reforms of teaching medium combine with the reforms of teaching contents and methods, which improved the teaching process, attained good teaching effects. At the same time, some questions are continuously to be studied further.On the base of the courseware making, we analyzed the teaching contents of plant, pointed out which parts of contents suit for MCAI. Multimedia technology not only has a bright future in plant teaching, but also it continuously provides new turning point and challenge for educational reform with the application of multimedia educational net.
